What Others Are Saying

“Dr. Banu’s initiative brought not just healing, but hope to our displaced community.”

-Refugee Camp Coordinator, Lebanon

“I first met Dr. Banu during my residency interview, and later had the privilege of working with her in the Child and Adolescent Clinic, and eventually in the Refugee Clinic. From the very beginning, I was struck by her quiet strength.

As we set up the Refugee Clinic, she did not simply give instructions from a distance. Instead, she walked with us door to door, reaching out with genuine warmth to invite community members and groups to join our sessions. That experience revealed the heart of her leadership; visionary, hands-on, and deeply rooted in compassion.

Dr. Banu is more than a leader; she is a true example of someone walking in her purpose. She has the rare ability to inspire others not through force or authority, but through humility, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to service.

Her work continues to leave a lasting impact, not only on the communities she serves, but also on those of us who have had the honor of learning from her.”

-Dr. Lorna Willk, Psychiatrist & Former Resident at Baylor College of Medicine.

“Her team equipped us with tools we now use every day to support trauma survivors.”

- Local Health Worker, Syria

Working with Dr. Banu has been a privilege. Her dedication to providing culturally competent care to refugees and survivors of trauma is evident in every aspect of her work. Her expertise and compassion have changed countless lives.
